Welcome to Butler, Alabama - The Choctaw County seat!

Butler is located in the southwest corner of our state. We are 40 miles from Meridian, Mississippi, 145 miles from Montgomery, Alabama and 111 miles from Mobile, Alabama. Our community is a reflection of a typical southern town, with all of our amenities around our beautiful county courthouse. We are strategically placed on the crossroads of U.S. Highway 17 and 10.

We are proud of our little town. Our business community takes pride in their appearance, our sidewalks are clean and without litter, our inlay brick pavers and ornate lamplights reflect a character of charm. Butler is naturally beautiful with our crepe myrtles and southern oaks.

Our subdivisions offer comparable housing prices, while our taxes remain low. Our heritage is rich in Indian names and abundant recreation.
